Pamela Johnston Inc. PR Didn't pay according to contract, wound up in small claims court

I had a three month contract with this company, only to have it cut short by a month. According to the contract, if I was let go early, I would get 50% of the payment of the time remaining in the contract. While Ms. Johnston agreed that she owed me this, she decided to ask me to work from home for the remaining payment. While I (stupidly) agreed to 5 hours a week for two weeks, I also drew up a new contract to ensure that she would pay me for the amount owed - and I emailed it to her and her assistant.

Long story short... Needless to say, Ms. Johnston still didn't want to pay me, so I filed a claim with the BBB, which said they wouldn't handle employment disputes, especially since her business was a member (isn't that what they're there for???!!). I then took legal action in small claims court, where via arbitration, I won a small, but not the whole, amount owed. And since the case # is of public record, I cannot be "punished" for publishing this.

I wouldn't recommend that anyone work for someone who doesn't hold up their end of any agreement.
