Long Distance Fraud consumer rip-off fraud

This needs to be brought to the Americans Attention. We once had sprint as a long&distance carrier in 1999. We paid the remaing balance off of $49.00 by a check (proof). They cashed the check in December.

Two years later they turned around and sent the closed account to an Collection agency for but this time for $282.00. I called the collection agency an asked what was the collection for. They said sprint turn the account over to them to collect the remaining balance. I started laughing an told them the the account had been paid in full for $49.00 which was due and closed out. I then called sprint and told them the account number an asked for the balance. The lady said it was for $49.00. I told her it can't be because you cashed the check we wrote two years ago and It was on out bank statment as cashed.

Then she said. OOOH yeah it was posted late that the account had been paid in full. I've called again to find out whats the deal. Now no one knows nothing and they can't seem to find the account at all. They won't even give me a letter stating the account is paid off and close. They have messed up our credit big time. FRAUD! May 23 I would notify the military legal office on this scam so other service memebers dont get ripped off.
