Rip off Fraud

The middle of April I noticed a deduction on my ATM card for 5000FreeMinutes, for $61.02. I didn't understand it at the time, but we had just opened another cell phone account and I thought, perhaps, it was in conjuction with that purchase.

The beginning of May there was another deduction for $61.02 from Direct One LLC. That day I called my bank, BofA, and reported that I believed I was a victim of fraud. At their suggestion I immediately cancelled my ATM card and ordered a new one. BofA stood behind this customer, and the amount of both deductions was back in my account within 24 hours of my report. After I had made sure no more unauthorized deductions could be made, I then tried to contact this company... Hah! Numbers were no longer valid, phone was not answered, etc.

At this point I have decided to let BofA handle further contacts, and filled out appropriate paperwork to let them do so. After hearing some of the stories about trying to get credit back on a credit card, and trying for months, I was fortunate that I used my ATM card on an account that typically, has a small balance. That's why I use it, so that I don't endanger my credit card or funds.
