Empylee posted payment from another person to my account, 2 yrs ago!

I called comcast tonight regarding a paperview event I had planned to order. I was then informed I had an overdue bill over 400.00. The person said, "I can see you have always payed your bill each month".

This balance was supposed to be coming from nov. 2007!! Someone at comcast had posted someone elses payment to my account. I dig up the checks, they do have the one I payed in November, for 132.00, but, I also grabbed Octobers (just in case) and told them the check was the amount of 210.00, they cannot find this payment.

We could not order the paperview due to this mess, that is not our fault, and obviously is not correct. I dont get how you figure this mess out 2 yrs later! What about the person who thought they payed their bill? Im sure comcast contacted them, and I would hope they had proof of payment. So, 2 yrs later, I get screwed up in this. If we payed the bill, and someone else payed the bill, then where would the credit have went for this?

And where is our 210.00 check at? We have to go to the office with the checks as proof, and I imagine the person who payed our account had to prove they actually had a check as evidence, so... Whats going on?
