Bait and Switch, Consumer Fraud, Lying to consumers

On Friday January 9 I called T-Mobile to find out about setting up service with them. After everything was said and done I was told that I qualified for 3 lines of service with no deposit. This was what the sales man on the phone told me. So I went ahead and signed up because their prices compared to most cell phone companies are very attractive. I ordered one phone with the gentleman on the line and paid for overnight shipping and didn't get the phone until Monday afternoon. The phone wouldn't turn on. Saturday I had gone into the store and picked up my phone, I wasn't told anything about what I would find out on that Monday.

When I was going to take my wife into the local store to get her phone line I was told that my account didn't qualify for a third line because my credit wasn't good enough. I have been fighting this for the past week trying to get them to honor what the sales man originally told me over the phone.

Normally I wouldn't care however we have three lines of service one for our close friend who is the victim of domestic violence, one for myself, and one for my wife who is an epileptic and needs information about her medications and who to contact in the event that she has a seizure on her at all times. Now they are backpedaling and telling me that I won't qualify for three lines because of a credit thing.

Regardless of the lie that I was told by the salesman the credit department at T-Mobile seems to think that they don't have to follow laws, and that they can lie to customers in order to get them to switch their services over.
