Why do i stay with such a company?

Yesterday, November 5, pulled up my AT&T phone bill online. My bill read $105 more than it was supposed to be. No added services, but there were four or five different companies on the phone bill, that i never heard of. My husband called each and every one of them, and each credited our account. But here's the kicker: Each unauthorized company asked us why we no longer wanted the service. My husband was trying to be friendly, and i told him to state: 1) I don't know what your services are 2) You are unauthorized to charge me for services that i did not consent to by written or oral agreement 3) If these charges are not rescinded within a day, i will contact the FTC and have them investigate why you are fraudently billing me. Needless to say, the items were removed the same day. We called AT&T, and they really had nothing to say. Aren't they supposed to monitor these things, or call with confirmation of your ordering a service? Well, i'll be looking for another phone company, because this is the third time!
