Bad service and unfair disconnect fees

I was a DTV customer since the early 90's. About 6 months ago we started having issues getting signal. We call DTV service to come out and check our our issue. The service rep replaced the cable ends and said we were good to go. The problem was back the next day.

We called back to service to have them come out again. They did not show up. A second service call was scheduled. No one showed. Finally we were assigned a special agent who told us a supervisor would be out but not for about 2 weeks.

On the scheduled date for the supervisor to show, a tech showed up. He looked at the dish and said it needed replaced. During this replacement a major storm moved in. He got off our roof and we had him come inside.in talking with him, he said he was from VA. We asked why he was in IA doing this. He said that DTV had ended the relationship with the IA company for performance problems. As the storm continued the tech said he would come back first thing in the morning to finish and left his ladder and the new dish.

The next day I received a call at work from him stating that they needed to move the dish, as a tree was blocking on of the Sattelites, and they could not do that unless I was there. I told him I was 5 minutes from home and would be there. He said he had another appointment he had to get to and would have to come back the next day. He never showed back up.

Even before contacting DTV, I was on line looking at my bill and notices they charged me for his service call. I was very upset. I called them and told them this whole story. And informed them I was tired of fighting with and and terminated our relationship.

I paid for all the prorated servcie they said I owed, and they removed the Service charge, but said I owed 139.00 for an early disconnect fee. I told them I would pay the when they reimbursed me for the 6 months when I had bad reception and service from them. They said they were just going to charge it to the credit card they had on file. Unfortunate for them that card had been canceled.

They have since turned me over to a collection agency. I recieved a call from them last night inquiring about this. I told them this whole story. They said they would not report this on my credit report, but DTV will probably turn it over to a differenct collection agency until they find someone who will or I decide to pay out of flustration.

Can anyone tell me how this might affect my credit rating, and or what options I have.
