Texas Home Repair, Craig Pruitt ripoff thieves

Texas Home Repair stated the job, added bathroom to home, could be done in 2 months. Eleven months later, the work was only about 75% complete. The work that had been done so far had been poorly done.

The contractor was fired and asked to return the money that had been paid for the work not done yet. Of course, the contractor stated he did not have the money, he had used it to finish other jobs.

I took him to the BBB for a judgement and he agreed to abide with whatever their judgement was. The awarded me
$4500.00 to be paid back to me for work that had not been completed. The contractor then stated he did not have the money but would pay me back as soon as he could. He claims his company is now out of business.

I do not want to take him to small claims court becuase I feel that he will claim bankruptcy if I do that. I just want my money, I have finished the work myself but had to borrow the money again in order to finish the work.
