Charged $149 for Equipment Before Installation Was Confirmed

I called to order installation slated for a future date, but cancelled that order today (the reason is irrelevant). I've since discovered that my credit card was already charged $149.00 for the equipment.

I had specifically asked about the possibility that I couldn't receive a signal, and was told that the installer would not complete the installation if it was determined that I couldn't receive a satisfactory signal. It is unscrupulous that they pre-charged for the equipment given that I've not yet received it, and the service may possibly not be installed at all. I spoke with an 'account specialist', and she admitted that my credit card should not have been charged, and claims she filed for a refund to be issued.

After reading from others here about Dish Network's pattern of customer abuse, I decided it would be prudent to file a dispute with my credit card company for the equipment charge rather than trust the company will, indeed, refund my money.

I would highly suggest that others who are cheated by the company also file a dispute with their credit/debit card companies.

And John of Spokane, I would be interested in participating in a class-action lawsuit against Dish Network.
