Stones sold as rubies are ordinary rocks

Shops, Products, Services

Company offers raw, uncut rubies from India. Web site instructs how to wash and split the stones to expose the ruby gems. They state that each bag of stones contains 1,000 carats (about a 1/2 lb). Rubies can range from 1 carat each to 40 carats. Stones must be washed and split to expose the rubies within.

Received the stones and followed the sites' instructs to wash and split, but all that was there were ordinary rocks. I immediately emailed my result to the seller and returned the rocks. Since they were washed and split (as directed), they offer another bag of rocks or half your purchase price back (excl s&h). Seller emphasizes that his site states a full refund is not available once the stones are washed and split. However, the issue is not the refund policy, but the fact that ordinary rocks were sold as rubies.

Save your money folks.
