After one year... - Gems Tv Jewelry

Miscellaneous

After one year and over 200 purchases, I returned 10 items. Gems TV has locked me out of their system telling me that I am an "unwanted customer". The reason for my return; low quality of product and not as described. They always promise that the customer has thirty days to return any item with no questions asked. What they DON'T tell you is that they will cancel you as a customer if you return items.

I have taken stones in for appraisals and some come have come in higher and some have come in for the price I paid. The only bad luck I have had that I feel there was deliberate falsification was when they were selling out the "last of their Burmese Rubies". I ordered three as investment pieces, stupid not knowing much about Burmese rubies. Last week I took them in for appraisals. The rubies they sold me were bright red. The gemologist told me that ANY ruby from Burma that is to be called a Burmese Ruby MUST be an intense blood red color. My rubies were far from that! My suggestion to any buyers who are active or thinking about buying is to talk to their local mom and pop Gemolologist (not some mall store) and you will be surprised how low most stones sell for. I was! Look for item on Gems TV that have high gold content, so if you ever get sick of the piece at least you can sell it and get some of your money back by selling the piece for it's gold content. Oh! Also, I have purchased about 12 Tanzanites (all graded AAA by Gems TV, 6 came back AA which is a lower grade by my local Gemologist, who family has been in business over 75 years and knows his stuff, so Gems TV can give out AAA's when they are not deserved. I am not telling you to stop buying themm, but get them appraised within the 30 days and if they don't measure up return them; however, you could be at risk at being kicked out of the system (and they can be quite rude!) Good Luck!
