A recent survey of local gas stations in 2 towns has produced some very disturbing results.in one town all gas stations were as follows:
regular $2.83
mid grade 89 octane $2.93
Super 93 octane $3.03
But I noticed today that at a big apple shell the reg and 89 were the same price as the others, but the super had gone from 93 to 91 octane and is $3.13.

I don't know why they feel they need to gouge consumers that take super, in another town regular was 2.71,89 was 2.81 and super 2.99 once again, every other station had a 10 cent spread between grades. They are getting away with it because they are very greedy. Since when is it normal to water down your premium to 91 THEN charge more than anyone else, when the other stations premium is 92 and 93?

I'm not surprised that this underhanded company is doing this, as it seems to be all about profit.
A couple of years ago i filled my heating oil tank with their "red shield" heating oil, as i got a good price for it.

I got what i paid for. My furnace blew out within a week, the technician said that the "red shield" ruined the oil burner, and he condemned my furnace, so there's no way i'd buy their gasoline after that anyway. They should not be allowed to get away with this kind of theft.

They've been doing it about a year now, and it should not be allowed, especially when it's ALWAYS BEEN THE CUSTOM to price 10 cents between grades, not 20, not 19.
I agree with Elmiere, that the only thing this company gives a damn about is profit, I have good friends who worked there once, they pay very little, and abuse the worker. Slavery is more like it, as they expect certain people "not to punch in" as to save money.
The liquor violations do not shock me at all, as I've personally seen teenagers sold liquor plenty of times at their local big apple.

Why are such people still in business? After the heating oil problem, I have not bought one thing from the big rotten apple. This is no company to do business with. Both their gas and heating oil is watered down, (a former employer told me that water sits on the bottom of their tanks until the level is over an inch, then most of it gets pumped out), and guaranteed to ruin the furnace or car.

When this happened to me, I had asked the technician who condemned my furnace if he was ABSOLUTELY POSITIVE that it was C N brown oil that ruined my furnace, and he told me that it's not the oil, it is the additive they use, he has seen multitudes of furnaces condemned because of this, and this is why they do NOT have their own technicians.

Remember that this winter. Don't let them suck you into buying their dangerous heating oil unless you have $5000 for a new furnace, because when it breaks down, they do nothing to help, only deny, deny, deny.
