Be careful signing up for Match.com! They state you have 72 hours to cancel your membership but will not issue you a refund unless you send letter via registered mail.

I signed my mom up for Match.com but cancelled within 72 hours. I received an email confirmation and thought that was enough.

After 30 days, I received my credit card bill and was surprised to see a $34.99 charge. I learned today that to be refunded the charges I would have also had to send in a letter within the month. (instructions in the "fine print" when signed up; not at all in the email confirmation) They said by cancelling within 72 hours I just prevented the automatic billing the next month.
Even though we did not use the service other than the first day (and the representative at Match.com verified this on-line) they refused to issue a refund because we didn't follow the proper procedures.

It was clear we did not use the service and I cancelled within 72 hours yet all they cared about was keeping our payment! Very poor business practice and customer satisfaction! WE WILL NEVER NEVER CONSIDER MATCH.com AGAIN!
