I ordered Direct TV via the internet in May '07. My order was to include a DVR box. On my installation date a technician came out and it took him 3 hours to get the dish and wires installed, which made no sense to me since I had recently had cable television and the wires were already there. Long story short it took this man 3 days to get my service installed and working, but I still had not got my DVR. I contacted the company immediately, and was told that I would not be billed until the system was installed as ordered and the technician would be reported.
2 days after it was installed my service went out and I contacted them again. This time they said they would send a lead technician out and again told me that I was not being billed for the service.
2 weeks after that the service was out again and I had to wait 3 more days for a technician to come who told me that one of my boxes was bad and replaced it. But when he called to activate the box they refused saying I owed a past due bill. I spoke to several agents and managers and was told that the most credit I deserved or would get would be $18. I was upset but I paid the remaining $33.
5 days after that the service went out again. It has now been out for 4 days and will be out for 4 more days. I was told this time my credit for time without servicce would be $1.03!!! When I asked for the number to their legal department or their corporate office I was told that there is no phone number and I had to write to California. I was also told that if I terminate my contract, even though the problems are their fault, I would be charged $250 for early termination.
