Sam's Club
Member purchasing gift for Non-Member and their return policy

Shops, Products, Services

For Christmas I purchased a gift through Sam's Club (internet) and had it shipped to Pennsylvania. The recipient of the gift already had this partcicular item so they took it to the nearest Sam's Club to exchange it for another item.

In the process of their exchange, they were then told that they would have to pay a 15% surcharge because they were not members of the club.

I believe this exchange should have been through my membership as they had all the information - wouldn't that be common sense?

The gift recipient refused to pay the 15% and took a Walmart gift card instead. Very embarassing on my end...

I will never buy a long distance gift from them again unless I can exchange it myself.
