Secured VISA depends on my credit score Ripoff

Recently applied for a SECURED VISA card with Bank of America, with SECURED being the key word here! Have had checking and savings accounts with BOA for 3 years, with direct deposit, and no NSF charges. I admit I'm not the richest customer they have, only depositing about 40K per year... Long story short, I was ready to transfer $1000.into a separate, SECURED account, in exchange for the SECURED VISA...

No go is what I was told by BOA, since I have a low credit score. I have a current car loan and 3 UNSECURED credit cards from other banks all of which are also current, never having been over limit.

They told me that without a better score there was NO WAY on earth I could get a SECURED VISA from them! Isn't the money in the SECURED account placed there to GUARANTEE payment of charges on a SECURED card??!!!??

Some of the things BOA does makes no sense! Now, if I was an illegal alien I understand BOA would gladly issue me an UNSECURED VISA with a $1000.00 limit, and would not even have to have an account with BOA! This is what they are doing in California right now! Time for me to switch banks...
