Personal Move Relocation And Storage
Poor communication, dishonest

Shops, Products, Services

My niece moved from washingion dc to louisiana. She went with a moving company called personal move (personal move relocation and storage). The company picked up her things on Dec. 26. She drove from washington to louisiana, 22-24 hours drive. Her consultant, david quijano, assured her that her things would be delivered on Jan. 3.

On Dec. 23rd, my niece called david to make sure everything was set up an ok. Someone by the name of Mike or Michael answered and stated that the trip or pick-up had not been confirmed. David assured my niece that the pick-up was confirmed. My niece asked him to fax the paper work, showing confirmation, to her but he never did. However, he kept assuring her that her things would be picked up on the 26th of Dec. And delivered on Jan. 3rd.

On Dec. 27th, Guy, the dispatcher, called my niece and asked her if she wanted her things delivered on Friday, Dec. 29. My niece informed Guy that she would not be back in louisiana in time to receive her things. If you are not present during the delivery to receive your things, you are charged an extra $500. My niece also informed Guy that she was told by the moving crew that her things could be delivered any day she wanted. So my niece signed for her things to be delivered on Jan. 4.

Guy stated that he was calling to see if she wanted her things delivered early and that he has trucks coming and going all the time so her things would be delivered on Jan. 3rd or 4th. Today is Jan. 5 and my niece's things have not been delivered and they will not be delivered anytime soon. Since my niece did not pick or accept Guy's offer to have it delivered on Friday, Dec. 29, he is going to deliver it 7-14 business days from Jan. 3rd (which was assured by david quijano) and Jan. 4th (the date my niece signed for it to be delivered).

My niece unknowingly signed for her things to be delivered two weeks later after Dec. 26th. I say unknowingly because on Dec 26, a unexplained contract was signed. My niece was told to signed the areas highlighted. One of the areas highlighted was "date of first available delivery". Be careful because it really doesn't mean what it says.

In addition, it is explained after your stuff/things are not delivered when you were told they were going to be delivered. I wish i would have read the other complaint against them first instead of after my niece had already chose to do business with them. My niece would not have chose to have her things delivered two weeks later (from Dec26th or Jan 4th) because she is starting a new job in another state next week. She needs to leave some things in louisiana as well take some things with her to the other state. It was cheaper to go with a moving company instead of renting a uhual or buget truck. Sometimes "you get what you pay for". Every lesson is a lesson learned!

I would not recommend this moving company to anyone. They are dishonest and unprofessional! And we are still waiting for Jay, co-owner, to call us back but it doesn't matter because Guy, co-owner, dispatcher, etc.., said Jay doesn't handle customer relations, he does: (
