My niece recently brought her car in King Hyundai to get her car fixed because the fuel would backup when filling. They told her it would be over 900 dollars to fix and she should consider a new car. They talked her into a used car she did not want, got her mother to take out the loan and charged more for the used car than a new one. A contract is a contract and at the time I felt they had little or no recourse. Then my niece went down to pick up a remote control and the finance man said he had some bad news. He said he could not find a bank to take the deal but if she would agree to take off two years of a maintenance agreement and reduce her 560 dollar / month payment to 545 over six years he could probably get it through. My niece had two witnesses that confirmed this and the fact she was crying. She signed the new contract, though she was not the holder of the original, signed a paper that negated the first, but was not given a copy. They wanted the mother to sign and that is when they called me. I told the mother not to sign and that they no longer had a contract. I went to the dealer and they told me if they did not sign, they would put the first contract through because they were not turned down but rather were trying to save her on her payments. I know my niece and mother messed up and are not very business oriented but now that the lies from the dealer are coming, which they openly admitted to me, I have to get involved to get my niece some justice. She gave them a 2001 Accent Hyundai and 1,500 dollars. The loan was for a 2007 Elantra not loaded with 7000 miles for 17,500 dollars. They added extended warranty and maintenance agreement and with the cost of the car would be paid over 6 years at 560/month.
