Ripoff dishonest fraudulent billing

I, Karen, had a contract with Monitronics for a little over three years. On March 8th of 2006 I moved into a new home. The owners of my old home took over the security system that was with Monitronics.
Once I moved into my new home I had planned to move the security system into the house. My planned changed when upon the date of installment I was told that they did not have my fire detection system. On that date, I called Monitronics to cancel the installation and explain that I wanted both the fire detection system installed and an upgrade. When finding out the cost of the system that I wanted, I decided that it was much more then I wanted to spend and said that I no longer wanted the system installed.

Since that date, Monitronics has called me three times to ask if I wanted the system installed, I declined all three times.

I received a bill that stated that I have been billed since March 9th. When I called Monitronics to ask why I have been billed even though I've never had a system installed, I was told that until I moved the system from my old location to my new home, I would be billed. During that phone call, I told Monitronics that I did not want the system put into my new home.

On December 19th I received a letter from CMI Credit Management telling me that I owed Monitronics $353.90. When I called the CMI to question the bill, they told me that I was suppose to send in a letter of cancellation.in those earlier mentioned phone calls not once was informed that I needed to send a letter of cancellation.

I want an explanation as to why I have been billed since March 9th though I haven't had a security system since I've moved into my new home. Not only will this bill destroy my credit, which is in good condition, but it will also make me lose money paying an unnecessary bill.
