Is taking advanage of the older people on a fixed income making us believe we can have a lower phone bill, then keeping our money when they cannot service our area. Ripoff!

On the 10/25/06 we recieved the Vonage device to connect their service in our home. After a week trying to figure this out & phone calls for help it still did not work correct. I called Vonage back, they informed me they did not have anyone in this area to come out and wire our home for their equitment, I told them we had to cancel their plan. Most of the calls I could not understand their english very good.

We had took our phone # that we have had for 15 years with us to Vonage, they advised us to wait till we were connected with our new phone company, the new company would have to send for our # back, we were told not to disconnect till we had another phone company.

The day we got the new phone company, I called Vonage, they said if I disconnected at that time I would be charged $95.00. I told them they had already taken $14.95 out of my account plus $30.00. I ask to speak to a Superviser, this girl said he would not give me a deal and make me pay the $95.00. I still wanted to talk with him.

He said his name was Erest, agent #21895. He made me the same deal, I tried telling him his equitment would not work in my area. We had static and would get cut off. Only one phone would work in our home, and we could not hear on it. I was talking with him on my cell phone to be able to hear him. I believe my phone calls were going to different states and countrys. He says for me to call back on Dec. 23 to cancel and I will not be charged the $95.00, but will be charged $14.95 a month for two months.

I have changed my credit card number hoping they can't get more money from my account. This company is taking advanage of people on Social Security, making us believe we can have a lower bill each month. We do not want our credit ruin. Thank You
