Replacement BlackBerry Only Refurbished After Breaking 22 Days After Purchase

I ordered a new BlackBerry from Verizon Wireless and it broke 22 days after I bought it. I paid $186.00 for the PDA. It was replaced under Manufacture's Warranty by Verizon Wireless. They would only ship a refurbished PDA because that is their policy, and arrangement with Black Berry. I have been a Verizon Wireless customer for 7 years. The service I received was horrible. I spoke to many representatives at the Salt Lake City office. The third I spoke to was Dustin Atwood and his supervisor Ed, Employee #466387. They were both unable to replace my phone with a new one. Ed was very rude and told me if I wanted to complain I should write a letter to their PO Box. He stated he would not give out his supervisor's name to me. Do not buy from Verizon Wireless. You will always get a refurbished phone if yours breaks. I can only imagine if I had bought a $500.00 PDA. If I wanted a used phone I would buy it on EBay. The associates at Verizon Wireless talk very friendly, but do not have the empowerment to make decisions. Stay away from Verizon on expensive phones.
