Ripoff dishonest billing and customer service practices

Shops, Products, Services

While I understand my obligations as outlined in the terms and conditions, what I do not understand is the shifty and underhanded cancellation practices (read practices not policy.) One can only cancel via telephone, however, it takes an act of congress to obtain said number.

Apparently, it is only found in the T&C. I emailed on several occasions asking for the contact information only to be completely ignored. Meanwhile the monthly service fee is being charged to my credit card. At long last I was able to retrieve the number from fat wallet dot com (google stamps (dot com) 1 800 numbers.)

I dialed the number and chose option two—cancel membership. I was on hold for approximately 27 minutes before deciding to call again on my cell phone while staying on hold on the land line. I wasn't on hold long enough for the music to begin before an associate answered in a cheerful voice, How can I help you? After this individual underestimated my intelligence enough to tell me that I was still on hold because the 1-800 number was experiencing technical difficulties (mind you, it's the same number,) I was finally able to cancel said membership. Having said that, they insist upon charging the month following the date of cancellation as per T&C.

This is a distrustful company with dubious customer service and billing practices. Please consider your needs carefully before dealing with this company. There are many companies that provide the same service such as the USPS.
