TRUE.com
Ripoff, dishonest fraudulent billing, terrible customer service

Education & Science

I signed up for a trial membership at TRUE.com, I thought it was for 7-days, but it turned out to be 3-days. I made the mistake of giving my credit card information. I had absolutely no idea I would be charged $49.00 immediately after my trial period without so much as a courtesy email. I was not notified at the end of my trial.

When I checked on my membership status, I got no current information on the status of my trial. There was no option to cancel. When you try to cancel, you really can't cancel by any command on-line. There is small print instructing you to call if you still want to cancel.

I called their customer service department. I was put on hold and waited for a long, long, long, time before a young man answered. I gave him the last four digits of my credit card and he needed my birthday to verify my identity. I told him I wasn't aware I had to do all this to cancel my membership. He asked why I wanted to cancel. I told him I sent 16-total emails to others and received NOT ONE response. I was getting suspicious and didn't feel comfortable using true.com anymore.

Customer service said my billing for $49.00 had cleared yesterday and there was nothing they could do but to offer me two months for one and extend my membership for a free 30-days. I responded that I wanted to cancel not extend and now I wanted a refund. He said that wasn't possible.

I told the customer service rep I wasn't happy with TRUE.com customer service and he got defensive and started to counsel me on how I could get more responses. I told him I wanted to cancel. He said my membership would expire in 30-days. I have been ripped off. Tell everybody. Warn others about this dishonest money grabbing policy.
