Difficult to cancel membership / Instructions on how to cancel!

After signing up and viewing my report, I immediately went to cancel my membership in TripleAdvantage. I called the customer service line to cancel, when they gave me the options, option 1 was to cancel. EVERY TIME I CALLED THIS NUMBER AND HIT '1' TO CANCEL, I WAS AUTOMATICALLY DISCONNECTED.
Canceling this service is a bit of a task.
While signing up, if you read the terms and conditions, it says you have 30 days to cancel membership in TripleAdvantage before they begin charging you $12.95 per month for the service. So, like many other people I thought "I'll just sign up, print my report and cancel to avoid the charge.".
To cancel
Call Customer Service at 1-877-481-6826. It's a toll free number. After a short introduction, you are given the options. 1 is to cancel, 2 is to troubleshoot the website, 3 is for 'more questions'.
Press 1, It's possible that my experience with this hotline is unique, but every time I called this number and pressed 1, I was disconnected. I tried it from multiple phones. If you are disconnected, call the number again...
Press 3 for 'all other questions'
You are given more options, option 1 is to dispute inaccurate information on your report, option 3 is for 'all other questions'
Press 3.
I was on hold for about 15 minutes before someone picked up. Not a bad wait time really. I called mid-afternoon on a Monday. When the representative picks up, tell them you would like to cancel membership but are disconnected every time you call and press 1.
She didn't seem too surprised when i said that, leads me to believe the line is engineered to do that. If it is, that's really shady. But she was nice and, after a few security questions my membership was canceled.
