My wife and I opened an account with Aarons over a year ago, to start off, when we went to Aarons, we asked them if they were okay with our paydays. We get paid every other friday, not the 1rst and the 15th, they were agreeable to these arrangements.

We signed 2 contracts, we were never given copies of either. We have told them we never received the contracts and still to this day we stil do not have them. Everything was going good for the 1rst year, when the account manager left and a new one took his place, that is when the trouble started.

The new acct. Manager didnt want to honor the payday agreements and was charging us late fees everyday that the payments were not in on the 1rst and the 15th. I even faxed them a copy of my pay cycle. All our payments were always in every other week, just like we agreed to, but this manager for what ever reason, is still charging us late fees.

We have repeatedly told them we need a copy of the contracts we never got, and all we get is, "we will take care of it and send them in the mail", it has been over 6 months and yet nothing. We are currently holding off on our payments and have requested that a regional manager investigate our acct.

We pay by credit card, and they used to mail us a receipt, we only have 4 and we have been paying them for 14 months. They have stopped sending us receipts. We havent received one in over 6 months.

Our merchandise is almost paid off, so we dont want to turn it in and lose all the money we put towards it. We had similar problems with other "rent to own" stores, we switched to Aarons because we were told it was better. Trust me it isn't.

As for all you people who's rebuttals are "just dont do business with them" unfortuately unless you have ever experienced renting/leasing through these stores, they make your 1rst experience great, to get you to sign the contract, its AFTER the contract is signed that these things happen.

It isnt right to take advantage of people no mater what their credit situation is. It isnt always about credit. Customers should be treated with respect. For those customers who do rent and not pay, makes the rest of us who pay for our merchandise look bad. We just happen to be having a bad experience, because somebody in our store screwed up and now we are paying for it.
