Told Another 12 Months Due on Last Sofa Lease Payment

I purchased a sectional sofa from the Aaron's store in Elgin, Texas, last year. I purchased the sofa because it was on sale. I agreed to a one-year rent-to-own lease. My last payment is due this month. I phoned the store to let them know my payment would be late due to unexpected illnesses in our family. On the day the payment was due, they phoned me, and I told them again about making my payment late. I asked what the total amount due would be, since this would be my last payment. The manager told me I had another 12 months due. I asked to speak to a supervisor, and she said no one else was in the store. I asked her to fax me a copy of my contract so I could compare it to the one I had at home. Suddenly someone else was available in the store! They would not fax me a copy, but said there was no signature on the lease, and since I was an excellent customer, they would make my contract for just 12 months. It was for only 12 months to begin with.

They have had a total of six managers since I signed the contract, none of them knows what the others had done, and they are out to scam you and rip you off. I will never purchase anything from Aaron's.
