Aarons Sales And Lease
Dishonored lease agreement repeatedly

Shops, Products, Services

I guess my first red flag should have been waving the day I signed my lease agreement. I sat down with the guy and made the agreement. Then right before signing the agreement had to be changed. He aparently was unaware that different items had different term lengths. So my computer could only be extended for 12 months while the monitor was for 24 months.

I bought the biggest, fastest, high powered computer sitting in the store. It had a 2 year warranty from the manufacturer and complete repair or replacement for the lease term from aarons. I scheduled my payments for the 15th of every month, signed the papers and went to take my new toy home. But first they had to remove all paperwork from the box. They stated I would get it upon payoff.

My first bill came in with a due date of the 1st. If you recall I signed for my due date to be the 15th. When I contacted aarons I was told that the only way I could pay on the 15th was if I paid twice a month, on the first and the fiftenth. They did finally honor the lease agreement terms but i was charged late fees first.

Each month my statements came in. Each month I made my way down to the store to pay my bill. My husband finally noticed (after about 6 months) that I was paying more than what my monthly statement said I owed. Of course aarons said the instore amount was right. But I know that I have paid extra and my account not reflect it. So what did they do with the extra I paid?

A year passed and I paid off my computer.in 12 more months I would own the monitor too. If you recall the computer had a 2 year manutacturer warranty? Which would mean that the warranty would end at the time I paid my monitor off. I'm still paying on my monitor and my computer needs repair. So I go online to the mans. Tech line only to be told that the warranty has expired and if I want to speak to someone it will cost me $39.99. Well, surely this is wrong! I have a 2 year warranty. So I call them.

Apparently aarons bought the computer 11 months before I bought it from them. So % would not honor the warranty and stated it was aarons responsibility to repair, replace, or pay for the computer repair. When I contacted aarons about the problem and the warranty situation I was told what it PROBABLY needed and that I could do it myself.

This is sooo not what the lease terms were. I was going to buy a camcorder from them but I believe I will go else where now. There's no telling how long they've had it.
