Ripoff

I have just received a mailing titled "Official Prize Award Directive". It further stated that I had "BEEN AWARDED A CONSOLATION PRIZE." This seemed strange, as I had no knowledge of entering a "sweepstakes".

I received 6 $400.00 "vochers" that I could then redeem for merchandise. On the back of the voucher it clearly states, in very fine print, that this is "not a contest or sweepstakes." Being in the legal field for several years, I am a skeptic of everything, anything and anybody. And I find my skepticism well based in this instance.

The merchandise being offered is extemely out of date and of questionable origin. Prehaps "grey market" merchandise that they are trying to unload on the unsuspecting public.

They offered two (2) different computers, a desktop or laptop, operating at 400 MHz with Windows 95 and 300 MHz with Windows 98, respectively. These are "junk" computers that you couldn't get $50 for at a swap meet.

Given the reprehensible manner in which this company chooses to market its' highly suspect and questionable merchandise and given that there is no way provided to contact the company, other than by a P O Box, I would advise staying far away from this ripoff.

If you decide to do business with this company, remember CAVEAT EMPTUS, BUYER BEWARE!!!
