Ripoff is a complete Fraud

I ordered Vonage on December 29. I was told it would take 20 days to transfer my present telephone number to the Vonage service. I asked them if they could start my service and free month when the number got transferred, I was told no problem. I explained to them that under no circumstance would I use the temporary number. Having 3 cell phones and my local phone company why would anyone need a temporary line? I called every month to ask them to please stop charging my credit card. They weren't supposed to charge it until the service began. They credited my Vonage acount but not my credit card. Yesterday I called them to inform them I have sold my house and as of April 6, I still do not have the Vonage service and they told me I would be charged an early cancelation fee!!! This is in addition to them charging me since December for a service we never even activated. They told me that the device they send comes activated whether you use it or not and sometimes it takes up to 8 months for them to transfer your number. This means you will be paying your local phone company and Vonage at the same time even if you do not use the Vonage Temporary number. Since it was past the 30 days trial period I would be charged and additional 43.00! I never used the service! I was charged a set up fee of around 48.00 and 30.00 per month and an early cancellation fee. It is a scam and they should be investigated! I am in the process of reporting them to the BBB and my credit card company. I will be reporting them next to anyone that will listen to me in the regulatory department.
