Ripoff Unscrupulous Business Practices Gouging

I went to Independent Accounting Services to have them balance my pilots logbook on or about 10/01/05. They said they would do it and make me a disk for the computer also, which I thought was a good idea. I have less than 3000hrs and not all of the time is in this log. I could have done this myself in a couple of afternoons which I did try a couple of times but could not find the error. I thought it would be good to let them do it and certify it correct should they need to make changes. This would be a simple job and I expected it to be done in at least a few days and cost maybe $50-$75 at the most.

Approximately 01/06 I did not hear from them so I called at which time they said they would get it done and call me back. Finally they called about 02/06/06, said they were finished and were to charge me $630. This is totally outrageous. I told them to hold on to it that I could not afford it. I have called about 02/20/06, was told Sheila Rigby, the owner, was on the phone, and would call me, she did not. I called again 02/27/06 and was told she was on the phone and she would call me, she did not. So far my pilots log is being held ransom and I have no recourse.
