Accutel Communications 1-800-4aphone consumer rip-off

I paid my 60 dollars to have my phone activated and they told me it would be 3-5 business days. I called them on the 7th business day because I was wanting to know why my phone had not been activated.

I was told the one who took my order had spelled my street name wrong and they would process the order and to give them 24 hours. 24 hours came and went and I called back once again to find out why it hadn't been connected. I was told then that it would be 3-5 more business days.

At this point I was angry because of their mistake I had to wait again. Another 7 days later still no phone. I called back to find out why. I was then told it was because I have an active phone line and I had to called SBC to get a disconnect order #.

I called SBC and they said they ran a check and the line was completely disconnected and I didn't need a disconnect # because the line was already disconnected. I called accutel again and gave them the info. I talked to a supervisor and they said it would be on asap. 5 days went by and still no phone.

I called AGAIN and got the same answer as before the phone line is still active and they couldn't do anything unless the had a disconnect order number and once they received that number it would be another 3-5 business days before they could process it. I told them I decided I didn't want their service and I was going with SBC instead and wanted my money back.

I was told that I would not receive my 60 dollars back because it was non-refundable but the credit could be applied to someone elses account that uses their service. I waited for almost a month for a phone but got nothing but excuses and waiting. They next day after I decided to go with SBC my phone was on. Watch out for 1-800-4APHONE because they are a scam.
