Fraudulent Charges, Threatened to call BBB, and they took them off. Ripoff! Internet

In December, I was looking for ways to improve my creit rating and found out about USA Credit's Platinum Credit Card, I applied and was told there would be a $150 fee for signing up. I post-dated a check-by-phone to pay for it. I did not have enough money in my account for it on the day it was charged.

I thought it was over, as (stupid me) I did not read the terms and conditions, I was charged a $20 returned check fee. I thought this was understandable and let it be, but then this month, I saw a $9.95 monthly charge that they put on my account. My husband usually takes care of the bank accounts, so I had not seen this before, and he thought it was a bill or something I had put in.

I called them to cancel this charge, and they told me they could cancel the $9.95 charge, but then they would charge me $40 because they had tried again to take the $150 out and there was insufficiant funds, so they were charging me 2 returned check fees.

The rep on the phone said that they could get rid of the $40 by signing up for roadside service for $5 a month, so I said yes. Then I called my bank and they told me that USA credit could not charge me the second returned check fee or the $9.95. I got onto usacomplaints.com and looked them up (something I should have done before I even signed up), and saw that someone said to tell them you are calling the BBB.

I called and gave them the chance to get rid of the charges, and when the guy started getting rude, I brought up the BBB. He put me on hold and my phone died. I guess it was good timing, though, because they must have thought that I hung up to call the BBB, and they called me back in less than 5 minutes to tell me that I would get a refund of the $9.95, the $40 charges were taken off, and the $5 a month crap I signed up for to get rid of the $40 charges was cancelled.

I'm telling you, BBB is the plague to these people and they will do anything to keep you from calling them.
