Rebate Giant.com This fraudulent company slammed us with not one but 2 monthly charges on our card

We have ordered many items online and never had problem. I am convinced that by far most of the online companies are doing a good job. But... My husband wanted to buy the Wii Sports Resort and shopped around for the best price. (not always a good choice). He found a great price at a site called Hot Movie sales.com., placed his order and we recieved the product. No problem... Until we reviewed his credit card bill. There was a charge for the game, and another charge of $9.85 for... What? I called and found that when he placed his order, he signed up for a 'service'. I told her I didn't want the 'service' and cancel it right now. I told her I knew this was a scam and I never wanted to see another charge from them again. She promised to credit our account for the first charge and cancel the account.
Today, while reviewing his credit card charges online, he noticed a charge for $12.98 from. Rebate Giant.com. I went to their website and tried to figure out what it was and why we were charged. There was a number to call, which I did and got the very same lady (?) I had talked to about the Hot Movie charges. This $12.98 was also going to be a monthly charge for a 'service'. When I told her about the previous scam that I had reported she found us in her computer and verified that she had cancelled that account. But this was different. I asked her how the charge was generated and she said that he had filled out a survey after purchasing the Wii and had agreed to this "service". I told her, again, that this is a scam and told her to credit our account and cancel the "service". She agreed to do this, but it would take 48 hours to verify that by email. We got the verifacation in 5 minutes.
Stay alert when you are online. We thought we were doing a good job, and had never had any problems. But this one got us. You have to check your credit card religiously... After 60 days it would have been much harder to cancel all this. We have always been very watchful and it has paid off this time. Even now I wonder where they will pop up next. They have to be stopped. I am not even sure what country I was dealing with. She had an Asian accent and was very robotic. I know I wasn't the first one to have this conversation with her.
