Wedding Photo Order Marked Refused After Missed Delivery

My wife and I were married last month. We recently ordered prints of our wedding photos from Wal-Mart, shipped by FedEx. Today, 10/9, I suddenly got the idea to track the first of my packages, which was not scheduled for delivery until tomorrow. Lo and behold, my order had been marked as refused and was being shipped back. Apparently there was an attempt to deliver the package ten minutes before I checked, but no one had come knocking on my door. I called customer service and reported the issue.
Minutes later I got a call from a woman who said the driver had returned to the area, the person who answered said I did not live there, and the leasing office had no record of my name. This is an apartment complex. I told her there are two apartments with the same number on different streets, and that the leasing office would not have my name because the apartment was leased under my wife's maiden name. She asked me to hold so she could speak with the driver. Three times she came back asking if someone was knocking on my door. "There's no one there," I told her. As a matter of fact, a FedEx truck was not even in the vicinity.
She eventually asked me to meet the driver at the leasing office, which I consider a reasonable request under the circumstances. But I had just put my one-year-old son to bed and I dare not leave him, or wake him, get the both of us dressed and then walk two blocks to the leasing office, to receive a package that should come to my door. She put me on hold again, then returned and said the driver had other stops in the area and had to go. He never showed up, and apparently my package being delivered is not as important as others. "He can't leave it at the leasing office," she said, "because your name is not on the lease and they will not take it." I did not even bother to say that I have picked up FedEx packages from the leasing office before because their drivers refuse to bring them to the door.
She did tell me that the package will be held at that branch and I can pick it up between 8 A.M. and 4 P.M. That is an inconvenience because we are a one-vehicle household. My wife uses the vehicle (she leaves for work at 8 and gets off at 5) since she works away from home and I work from home. I agreed to those terms because I had no other options. As I hung up the phone, a UPS driver pulled up and delivered a package to my building. Must be nice.
