Card changed for not updating address after 13 years

I have had a Home Depot card for 13 years. I was contacted on 9/21 and informed that my card was changed, stating I had not updated my address. I called and updated my address on 6/28 and even contacted them on 7/5 about an order I had placed.

Regardless, they stated that their change in terms notice was returned to them twice. Is this some way to thin the population of HD credit card users? (Citibank) No one could provide me an answer on why this happened, but I could reapply for another card?! Seriously. I am now a Lowe's customer.
