Carpet falling apart - carpet

We had carpeting installed on Sept. 11. The installer showed up 6 hours late and stayed until 12:30A.M.installing! That was the first complaint. The rug looked okay at first, although not what I thought — the color and feel of it was off from what I had chosen. Several months passed and I began to notice that it looked very matted down — like it was very old! The carpet is also slippery to walk on in bare feet. My daughter has now fallen down our carpeted stairs 3 times!!! Our cat occasionally sharpens her claws on the carpet. (As all cats will do). Everywhere that this happens, there are now strings hanging out! In a few spots, the rug has actually ripped out, leaving the backing exposed in several areas of our stairs! It's unacceptable and looks just terrible! Vacuuming this rug is also a nightmare! I have a Dyson vacuum and it can't seem to pick up the dirt and fuzz off of this carpet! It holds onto it like Velcro, causing me to have to keep going over and over it! I hate EVERYTHING about this carpeting, and I had 5 rooms done! I filled out and sent in a complaint form (with pictures) on August 8 of this year and have not heard anything back. Could you please respond and tell me what I can do next? Thank You.
