Extended Warranty Runs Concurrent With Manufacturer Warranty

Three years ago I purchased an ESP from Lowe's that was supposed to be a 3 year extension of the manufacturer's warranty. My product comes with a two year manufacturer's warranty and now that I am in need of repairs I am told that the 3 year extended service plan runs concurrent with the manufacturer's warranty. When I purchased the warranty I spoke with the store manager and the regional store manager from Lowe's. All assured that my total coverage was 5 years total, turns out that the people selling the warranty, including supervisors, are either untrained or simply deceptive in their knowledge of ESP from Lowe's.
