Invalid HOA. Illegal HOA liens homeowners! Do not buy here

We have a HOA in our neighborhood that seems to think they can do anything to anyone. Neighborhood was developed without a HOA and many years later several individuals decided to start one, despite being told by real estate attorney they could not since property is fee simple. At any rate, after many years in court, they still have not proven their validity to the satisfaction of a judge. Last summer they took seven residents to small claims court in attempt to collect monies - judge threw cases out of court stating they had not proven their validity. They refused to remove the liens from those properties as well as others that have liens filed against them. They are threatening foreclosure now... One of the officers of this HOA has tried to run a resident down while walking her dog. Another's husband has threatened neighbor with rifle, another has chased residents down street while campaigning for office... And the threats go on. It appears that who you are in this neighborhood makes a difference. When questioned as to why an attorney's lien was released without him making payment, the president of the HOA replied (in neighborhood meeting) - "because he was an attorney". She was then questioned what made him different from anyone else and could not come up with an answer. Needless to say, the subject was changed rather quickly. We need to eliminate these people and their fraudulent organization.
