I selected a gasoline grade of 87 at pump no. 8. Grade 87 rate is $3.779 per gallon. I made sure the grade and price I selected matched what I selected. I watched the meter registered 10 gallons of gasoline pumped into my vehicle tank and verified the amount is equal or close to a total of (10 gallons x $3.77) as I had expected. Once verified, I then continued to pump more gallons into the tank while I kept my eyes at pump. The gasoline station pump indicators suddenly changed the grade from 87 to 93 and the rate changed to $4.178 per gallon and the total amount jumped from the mid $68.00 and some cents to over $75.00 and some cents. All the the gallons I pumped were suddenly changed from $3.779 to $4.179 per gallon.instead of charging my account $68.07 for 18.014 gallons, my account was charged with $75.26 for the same amount of gallons. I informed the gasoline station attendant about the problem and I was told that a similar incident previously happened at the same station but according to him, the customer must have selected the wrong grade. Either the pump I used is faulty or somehow somebody switch the grade and price despite my diligent observation.
