Pump is great - Home Depot Warranty Sucks
I purchased this pump at Home Depot in 2002 primarily because of the lifetime warranty. I was pleased with he performance until it final failed. I contacted Flotec and, since I still had the original Home Depot receipt ($148), they told me to go to Home Depot and all would be taken care of there. After much screwing around as no one at the Ypsilanti, MI HD had a clue as how to resolve the issue, the manager finally offered a store credit for the original purchase price of $148 plus tax. HD no longer stock Flotec pumps with a lifetime warranty in the store although my exact model is still available on-line with store pickup ($198). The manger refused to obtain a replacement for me so the only alternatives that I had was to accept the store credit, pay an additional $50 to obtain the same pump which still carries a lifetime warranty or use the store credit to get a lesser pump which no longer has a lifetime warranty. So, the bottom line with Home Depot is that every time you exercise your lifetime warranty, it will cost you. Not much of a lifetime warranty, is it?
