Citicards sent me an offer to keep my account open by raising my interest rate or having my account closed. This was sent to me by mail, and I threw it out thinking it was a promotion. I have been a loyal customer for over 15 years and always paid on time and mostly above the minimum due.

I went to use my card and it was closed! I called to ask why, and they informed me it was because I refused to have my interest raised. I was on a lower interest balance transfer plan that they had offered!

Another time they were charging me $85 per month in finance fees. When I called to inquire why, they said I didn't check the box that said I didn't want to pay a higher fee. These guys are crooks.
