Formerly Providianemerge transfer with letter of new card and then closed account ripoff

My account was sold to Emerge, without my knowledge. Originally, I was under the impression I was getting a new card and that everything would be the same. My payments were on time and it was a very good account.

However, I came to find, with a letter, that my account was being canceled and closed. No reason could be given other than it was a business decision. There was no one available to talk to. My interest rate also went up. Now I am paying and have been for some time now, on a closed account with a higher interest rate.

If they were any kind of company, they would give me a much lower rate, as the account is no longer valid, so I can get it paid off faster and get them out of my hair. I would not want to open another account with them, after this.
