Bad Computer design and no customer support - HP Pavilion dv7t-6c00 CTO Quad Edition Notebook Compute

Miscellaneous

Re: HP Pavilion dv7t-6c00 CTO Notebook Computer - purchased 4/30 - Allegedly a "high-end entertainment computer" with a "subwoofer", the speakers on this machine are superlatively inadequate; at maximum volume they are just barely audible if one is within 18 inches of the computer and the surrounding environment is noise-free. HP, Are you kidding me with these speakers? Is this a corporate joke? What were you thinking?
Customer support: I have contacted HP customer support twice for answers to rather trivial questions. This involves a 5-minute login and machine identification / customers id process just to get started. On one occasion the answer was flat-out wrong. On the other occasion, the support person in the "chat" was making guesses to the solution along the lines of "is the laptop plugged in and the power on?" sort of thing. I gave up. HP support seems to be a learning program for HP employee computer novices with cognitive problems. I have concluded it is nothing but a waste of time to contact HP "Assistant".
HP web computer support: I wanted to give this feedback to HP through their web interface, but it wouldn't let me log in because their "Passport" system was not available. Is this a global company with billions in sales? How the heck did that happen?
Software: A Norton Internet security product with a free 6-month subscription was provided on this computer. I have never activated it. I have experience with Norton products and would not purchase or use one.
Otherwise I am pleased with the computer and ease of setup.
