Target Replacement Plan is a Fallacy as is their Customer Service - RCA DVD

My wife and I purchased a RCA DVD player for our daughter 4/09 at Union store 1084 on Route 22. The salesman convinced us to buy a replacement plan. He said he had one for his child and Target would replace the DVD under any condition. He knew this because he had bought one to cover his child. We never buy them but felt as our daughter was 8 it was worth the purchase. The DVD did break and we called the number on the plan1-866-496-6356. They said as it was within the 90 day store warranty simply bring it back to the store and they would replace the device. We did so and was greeted by Scott (no last name given) at about 7:57 PM, the loss prevention manager, who abruptly said no he wasn't taking back the DVD. He was curt and defensive. I said his employee that sold us the warranty said the DVD would be taken under any condition as long as we had the warranty. It seems the warranty has multiple loopholes. My wife and I are educated people. We did not read it we ACTUALLY believed the salesman as he is a representative of Target. It is no loss to replace the DVD to Target. They RTV it and make a customer happy but they will not honor their agreement. We will take our business elsewhere. Meanwhile we're surrounded by other workers in customer service complaining about being overworked and how close to the edge they are. I have to commend store manager Everado Greenaway fo the outstanding service.

We called the replacement plan number in the store with Scott standing off to the side and was greeted by Robert at 8:05pm who also refused any help and transferred us to a closed RCA line.
