Phoenix Consumer Services
Bank Account Rip-Off

Miscellaneous

I recieved a call at work. The person had all of my personal info about work, address, and bank info. They gave me a confirmation number and stated that another representative would call back in five minutes to finish process.

I asked who they were and they said Phoenix Consumer Services and I was referred to them by a credit agency. They were trying to help me establish or reestablish my credit by giving me a visa or mastercard with no annual fees. The only requirement was to see if I had a valid bank account.

The representative was very demanding, talked very fast and wanted me to verify a bank account number and select a date for $129.95 to come out of my account as a one time fee. I had never heard of this company and had recieved NO prior information. He told me I would recieve it in 7-21 days.

This seemed strange to me so I checked the internet. Their site was very limited in info and they were on the list for consumer complaintss. He gave me a number to call back in case I wanted to change the date the money came out of my bank, but it was busy. The number he actually called from (which was different from the one he gave me) was also constantly busy. 866-799-2788 and 727-530-7071. So, when I saw they were really a scam I decided to add my story to help prevent what they are doing.
