I contacted AT7T about internet svc. They said if i bundle, i could have internet plus a local phone service for $40.00 per month. They told me there was a modem fee for approx $100.00, at which time i told them to forget it then, because i coul get internet for a lot cheaper than that. The lady talked to her supervisor who told her that rather than lose a customer, i could have it for free. There were no other charges discussed. When i got my first bill from AT&T, IT WAS 369.47. I called them at their customer service line, spent approx 2 hours on the phone and was finally told my one of their managers (after we discussed all the double billing etc on the bill) that my charge would be $90.46 for all the installation charges, etc, and then the first month after that it would be approx. $50.00 and then the following month it would go to the $40.00 per month.
I just got my new bill for this month and they are saying i owe $232.36 (including interest of 8.29 for an"unpaid balance"). I spent 3 hours today trying to get it resolved, including being hung up on by a supervisor named "carmen". She practically called me a liar and said they NEVER give modems for free. After calling back and talking to another supervisor named "angel" she said that after fixing the duplicated charges etc. My bill will be $98.43, and from now on it will be only $40.00 per month. We will see.
