In October and November the City of Amarillo Water Department charged me for water I DID NOT use. They sent me a comparison showing that I used 2% in 2010 but 17% in 2011. I USED EXACTLY THE SAME!!! My sprinkler system is programmed to water 3 times a week for 15 minutes each section; there are 6 sections. It was/is NEVER changed from one year to the next. It is just turned on and off seasonally. It is turned on May 1st and turned off on September 31st. October's bill was $150 and November's was $130. They periodically rip me off like this and I'm getting really tired of it. I called them and tried to discuss the problem with them but they were just unbelievably rude and insisted that "they were right." I called the BBB because in the past when this has happened they have worked out an agreement/compromise. They must have different personell because they just ignored any evidence I had and took the city's word for it. WITHOUT DOING ANY INVESTIGATING! I hardly know where else to turn but I plan to contact the Attorney General and my state representatives and senator, as well as the PUC and the State Water Utility Service/Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) which "is responsible for general supervision and oversight of water district and utilities..." "Complaints about your water service should be directed to the TCEQ."

Hopefully, some of this will be effective. I am so tired of being cheated and dealing with the stress of the constant hassle of trying to deal with the Amarillo City Water Department and their arrogance and their insistence that they haven't (and attitude that they couldn't possibly) make a mistake.
