Getting money back from banks - Home Mortgage

Bank Of America deucted 2 mortgage payments from my BoA checking account a week ago. It was their mistake but they cannot tell me when I will get my money back. Today they told me their was a backlog of payment credits to make. This makes me suspicious that they do this all the time to customers and just think waht they can do with this excess cash.
I was finally promised the money back before midnite last night... Guess what it never arrived. Today they promised by midnite tonite.
I receive no follow up calls, you have to chase and chase to get any feedback.
BoA do not understand the importance of follow up with their customers!!! Even car dealers follow up after taking delivery of a new car or a service repair/complaint.
