I applied for a Bank of America refinance of an existing Bank of America mortgage in October. During the next two and a half months, the loan application was reassigned to five different people, and whenever the file was transferred, documents were lost and I had to fax them in again. Also my bank account information became out of date and I had to keep sending them new information. They also kept changing the rules, requiring things that they had previously not required. It is clear that the Bank of America mortgage processing center in Missouri is not competent to handle refinances. I have a perfect payment history on all mortgages I have ever had. I am one of the lucky ones—I have an existing mortgage which I will pay off on time. Imagine if I were trying to buy a new home! In my opinion, and based on my experience, the only thing Bank of America is competent in doing is compensating their CEO.
