Miscellaneous

My fiance' and I purchased a new 2007 pathfinder in feb. The vehicle now has approximately 64000 miles on the odometer. About 1.5 years ago we started to hear a whining noise coming from the engine area. We took the car in to a nissan dealer for servicing and to have the whining sound diagnosed (the car had approximately 35000 miles). Although the sound was quite obvious to us, they assured us there was nothing wrong with the vehicle. The sound only got worse over time and we recently took the car in to have that sound diagnosed again. They now tell us the noise is the timing chain and refuse to fix the problem now that the car is 4000 miles past the warranty. The car was within the warranty period when it was originally brought in to nissan for that same problem. Nissan has had reports of the timing chain problems on their 2010 pathfinders. They need honor their warranty as they are well aware of this defect.
